Sessions run for 1 hour, weekly during school terms.
Additional sessions over school holidays and in the lead up to exams and SACs can be booked.
Sessions are one-on-one but can be small groups of 2 or 3 if requested.
Sessions are in person at Robyn's home in Frankston South, in her purpose built office. Alternatively, online sessions are offered. Sometimes family or work commitments make travelling for tutoring difficult, so an online session is a great option, either regularly or for the occasional session. Robyn is very flexible and happy to work with you to find the best option.
For in person sessions, the student brings their workbook, textbook, pen/pencil and calculator. Everything I demonstrate in a session is written down and the student is able to take the notes home, or for students that prefer, notes are produced in their own online notebook, so they can be accessed from anywhere.
For online sessions, we use zoom. I use an interactive whiteboard with stylus, so as I write and explain, the student will see my notes on the screen in their own online notebook, which they can access anytime. I also like to keep cameras on so it feels more engaging.
I pride myself on being able to help my students whenever they need it. The last thing I want is for them to be stuck on a weekend or late night when their classroom teacher is unavailable. I always tell them that I'm here if they need me... whether that be to proof read their VCE Chemistry poster at the last minute, to point them in the right direction on a maths problem or explain why the answer is what it is!
